Spectrum Design Services was founded by Paula Jo Boykin ASID, IIDA in 1980.  Under her guidance, she built the Cleveland-based Interior Design company into a nationally recognized Hospitality, Restaurant and Corporate firm offering a “spectrum of services” including interior design, procurement, project management, installation coordination and liquidation.  The firm is regularly listed as on of the TOP 100 Hospitality Design Firms in the United States.  We are well-known for our vast experience with the Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Intercontinental Hotels Group, and Carlson brands. 

In 2006 Spectrum Design was acquired by mbi | k2m Architecture, Inc. under the leadership of Scott C. Maloney and Michael B. Ingram.  The combined talents of the two highly experienced firms has resulted in a full service architecture / interiors / procurement firm offering turn-key solutions to our clients.  Ms. Boykin continues to serve in an advisory and consultancy capacity when required.

Sustained growth requires persistence and vision. Although we are in our third decade of delivering expert hospitality design, there is a renaissance taking place within our firm. We recognize a new breed of design.  As the lines between architecture, fashion and technology blend, the changing landscape requires a new expertise. To reflect this new paradigm, Spectrum has expanded our core services to include, commercial offices, luxury residential, leisure destinations and conference centers. This diversity enables us to stay at the forefront of the market’s ever-changing needs and represent clients as they continue to evolve.
