COOK PROMOTED TO SENIOR DESIGNER AT SPECTRUM DESIGN SERVICES

Charlotte, North Carloina – Kelly Cook has been promoted to Senior Designer at Spectrum Design Services, a nationally-known, award-winning interior design firm specializing in hospitality, commercial and high-end residential projects.

Cook was the lead designer of the Spectrum Design Services team responsible for the interior design of the chic new Ellis Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.  With its boutique-style elegance and modern comfort, The Ellis is the newest luxury, boutique hotel in Atlanta.  She also spearheaded the custom design of the Country Inn & Suites located in Savannah, Georgia which Carlson Worldwide chose as the location to celebrate the opening of their 450th property.

Cook joined Spectrum Design Services in 2005.  The firm is headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio and has additional offices in Key West, FL, Southwest Florida, and Houston, Texas.  Prior to working with Spectrum Design Services, Cook was a staff designer for Judith Politi Interior Design, a predominantly high-end residential design firm based out of Columbus, Ohio.

In announcing her promotion, Scott Maloney, Spectrum Design Services Director stated, "Kelly has established a reputation with our clients because of her extraordinary design talents – talents that include an intuitive and unique design sense coupled with leadership skills, technical know-how and construction management capability.  As Senior Designer, we look forward to Kelly playing a greater role in furthering our design initiatives and client service goals."

Cook has managed multi-million dollar renovation and new construction projects where she was responsible for the interior design and project management as well as Fixtures, Furniture, and Equipment (FF&E) selection and specification, construction documents, and construction supervision.   As a key member of the Spectrum Design team, Cook is familiar with many of the hotel brands including the Carlson, Marriott and Hilton.

Cook strives to tailor each project to the unique needs and personality of its location and owners.  Her ability to effectively establish good client relations and meet the client’s budget, time frame and design expectations, make her a valuable asset to our team.  Although she has managed many large projects, she also finds satisfaction in the completion of small projects, where cost is an issue and a more direct, personal approach is necessary.

Cook joined Spectrum Design Services in 2005, and most recently served as a staff designer at the firm’s Huntersville, NC office.  She also recently became certified with the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ).
