This Tuscan Italian bistro was not designed with the typical red and white checked tablecloths design. The client wanted a unique, animated design that would attract client’s attention and draw them into a space that was colorful yet comfortable. To give the restaurant an open, airy look, 80% of the booths were eliminated and replaced with contemporary wooden seating and woven vinyl chairs allowing for more informal dining experiences. In addition some large banquettes were created to offer flexible space for both small and large parties. Faux painting adds to the restaurants open feeling, and lends whimsy and visual impact to the design. Cloud filled skies surrounded by grinning cherubs distinguish the ceilings, while sunflower and olive-grove murals decorate the walls. Large colorful asparagus stalks “grow” on columns that march down the main aisles of the room.
