| The Keys Federal Credit Union commissioned mbi | k2m Architecture and Spectrum Design Services to design their new $6.0 million, 12,000 square foot corporate headquarters building on Stock Island, Florida. The project is planned to front US-1 and represent the professional image of the credit union. Due to the location of the property the design will serve as a benchmark for other new construction projects undertaken in accordance with the Stock Island Re-Development Plan. The building will house a corporate meeting / training center, administrative offices, and branch bank.
mbi | k2m is providing master planning services for the overall 3-acre property. The site program includes a County Library branch, workforce housing, drive-thru banking, parking, on site water retention, and landscape / hardscape features. Additionally, the facility is being designed to resist 175 mph wind forces as will serve as a 5-day hurricane shelter for staff and their families. Our designers have programmed a kitchen and other support facilities into the building footprint to allow this building to function independently as a shelter during a hurricane.
