Description: Spectrum Design was contracted by the client initially to complete renovations to this existing hotel as a result of significant hurricane damage. After the debris was cleared from the two storms which hit, all that remained of the property were the stud walls. This enabled our design team to re-design the entire hotel giving a fresh-face to this beach-front property.

The challenge of this project was to create an interior which set the hotel apart from the fierce competition in the area. By utilizing new and improved materials, a warm and inviting color palette, and adding a new level of sophistication we achieved our goal.

Our design team found the overall flow and function of the building to be efficient; however we made a few alterations such as expanding the size of the ballroom and reconfiguring the layout of some of the public spaces. We called for the architects to raise the ceiling of the ballroom to bring the room into proportion. This room has truly maximized on the convention crowd which frequent the area. Our design draws focus to the expansive lobby, restaurant and pool deck area by keeping the view to the beautiful exterior open and providing colorful, comfortable lounge seating. Oversized custom lighting and sculptural seating creates dramatic focal points throughout the hotel. Each guestroom was upgraded with granite countertops, custom vanities & furnishings, and the latest in comfort bedding packages.

The project recently won 1st place accolades at the Northern Ohio Chapter ASID 2006 Interior Design Awards.
