| The new 101-room Country Inn & Suites, featured by Carlson Hotels worldwide, is located in Savannah’s Historic District. Country Inn & Suites offers traditional architecture with sophisticated residential interior design including hardwood flooring, lobby fireplace and front porch. The hotel welcomes guests with furnishings that blend rich woods and a contemporary color palate. This property was custom designed to meet the standards of the local historical commission, the client’s project requirements, and exceed Carlson’s brand standards.
Spectrum Design Services was commissioned by Tara Hospitality for the interior design and FF&E procurement of the hotel
which features all the comforts of a modern hotel but resonates a feeling of the past.
As you enter the hotel, a stunning fireplace serves as a focal point to the public space and divides the lobby and breakfast area. It features custom designed millwork and reclaimed Savannah bricks that were all harvested from the site during excavation. The two-story lobby features large windows and comfortable furnishings dressed with rich fabrics in a warm earthy color palate of golds and rusts with hints of blue-green.
The open lobby/breakfast concept promotes a welcoming environment for guests and makes the best use of the space. A comfortable seating group is nestled by the fireplace and two round game tables provide an option for dining or lounging. Custom carpet surrounded by a rich hardwood floor anchors the breakfast area. The unique artwork features historic Savannah locations and was custom designed for this property.
Several glass bottles dating back to the 1800s were recovered during excavation and provide another glimpse of the past. They are on display behind the reception desk enclosed in a custom millwork cabinet. The millwork throughout the hotel was designed by Spectrum Design and features classic lines, simple detailing and a rich stain color unify the overall design of the space. The dark stain of the ceiling coffers against the light colored ceiling add dimension to the space and sets the stage for the custom iron, glass and crystal chandeliers.
The spacious guestrooms are well-appointed with all the luxuries of a modern hotel, including LCD televisions, high-speed internet, and custom designed casegoods. Dressed with comfortable fabrics in warm tones, the rooms have a lavish, yet relaxing feel. Large bathrooms feature granite countertops and tiled shower surrounds.
The hotel also features a 100 person capacity meeting room with a 60-inch wall-mounted plasma flat screen TV and built-in audio system, and two boardrooms.
In addition to the interior design for Country Inn and Suites, Spectrum Design also provided complete Procurement Services including budget preparation, specification review, bid list compilation, p.o. issuance, accounting and timeframes to meet the projects goals. Spectrum Design’s detailed FF&E procurement process ensured a financially beneficial and effective project implementation.
