| Having completed several Perfect Mix Lobby designs in the past year, Spectrum Design was chosen by Inland Lodging Advisor to embark on the complete interior renovation of the Hampton Inn White Plains. Located just 30 miles from New York City, the hotel is heavily focused on servicing the business traveler.
Originally constructed in the 1950s as a full-service hotel, the property features a large amount of open space not typically found in a limited service property. This allowed our design team additional flexibility to develop a multi-functional public area floor plan. Upon entering, the lobby welcomes guests in and several gathering spaces are introduced. In keeping with the Perfect Mix Lobby concept the space was designed with plenty of soft seating, standard dining chairs and tables and a communal table giving guests a variety of options for dining and gathering alike. In addition, this property features a unique component – a day-night bar that serves smoothies and breakfast drinks in the morning and transforms into a full service bar in the evening.
The blue and green color palette is clean, crisp and contemporary. It is complimented by warm earth tones giving the space a comfortable feeling. Light and dark wood tones add interest to the space and are reflected in the teak colored floor tile that extends throughout the lobby and breakfast area. This combination is also mirrored in the new free standing front desk which features a contrasting stain design paired with a sleek and modern quartz stone work surface. Custom black and white photography mixed with custom abstract artwork brings life to the space while maintaining consistency with the Hampton brand standards.
Our team provided interior design, architecture, and MEP engineering services on this project.
