Description: Spectrum Design Services was hired by Paradigm Architecture in combination with, Petropolus and Associates, to provide interior design and procurement services on the new construction of the Morgantown Event Center in Morgantown, West Virginia. The 70,000 SF Event Center, connected to the Waterfront Hotel, is located on the banks of the Monongahela River, in the Wharf District of Morgantown, and just a short distance to the acclaimed West Virginia University.

The Event Center will seat up to 1500 people and be used for a variety of events such as Multi Use Conferences, Banquets, Weddings, West Virginia Public Theater, and sporting events such as boxing matches.

Spectrum Design serves as the Interior Design consultant on the design-build team for this public-private development project. Our responsibility for the project was to create the complete interior design package consisting of finishes, seating, casegoods, millwork design, decorative lighting fixtures and design, window treatments, plumbing fixtures and accessories, artwork/mirrors/accessories, and even including the china, glass, and silverware package. In addition, Spectrum Design is procuring all of the seating, casegoods, window treatments, and artwork/mirrors/accessories and china/glass/silver, for the project.

The design package mimics nature with organic elements, a warm, earthy color palette of golds, chocolate browns, taupe’s, and rusts. The seating pieces are clean lined and timeless, with durable materials to withstand the incredible amount of users guest using the space. The casegoods are all made of solid wood with glass or granite tops. All countertops and built-in millwork will have granite or solid surface tops. The lighting fixtures were custom designed to fit the immense volume of the space and high ceilings. The fixtures will be a drum style fixture with glass bead accents.

Spectrum Design Services was also hired as the Interior Designer for the renovation of the Waterfront Hotel Conference Facilities, Lobby, Food and Beverage outlets, Guestrooms and Guest Corridors, to be completed in 2010. The interior design package for the new Event Center will be carried into the hotel conference facilities in order to maintain continuity in the space.
