Description: Nestled in the quiet splendor of the stately Sequoias and enveloped by the breathtaking natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada’s, the Tenaya Lodge is located on a 40-acre plateau, some 5,000 feet above sea level. The hotel embraces its surroundings with interiors that are steeped in rich Indian history and the rustic vernacular of the area. Indian motifs in warm palettes of gold, teal and burgundy adorn rugs, artwork and bedspreads. The saloon bar which incorporates four bust sculptures of famous Indian chieftains, including Tenaya, is adorned with semi-precious stones. The beamed timber ceiling soars over locally-mined stone floors and fireplaces. Sensitive to the natural wildlife of the area, sculpted taxidermy was used in place of real through out the hotel. Understated elegance, intimate luxury and attention to detail only begin to describe one of the Sierra Nevada’s greatest treasures. Project included 250 Guestrooms, Meeting Rooms, Restaurants and Ballrooms
